Week 2, Day 2

1.  Look at the data you collected yesterday.  Decide the most appropriate graph type, and graph the data on the provided graph paper (attached to the data table).

2.  Think for a bit about why the temperature didn't change when the ice was melting.  Obviously there was heat energy going into the cup, because the ice was melting.  Where did the heat energy go?  Why did the water only heat up once all the ice was melted?

Respond to these questions in your science binders and be prepared to discuss tomorrow with Miss Z.

3.  In the Heat and Change book, look over 57-63.  

4.  Based on these pages, write a question for the inquiry, and write a hypothesis for what you think will happen and why.  We will go over this tomorrow.  

5.  If you have extra time, read about Walter Massey on pages 64-66.  It's interesting background knowledge to have about a relevant scientist.
